A man from Newham, and three others, have been banned from West Ham United games after an unrest at a major tournament.
The four West Ham fans were found to have caused disorder in the Netherlands during the club’s Europa Conference League semi-final match against AZ Alkmaar on May 18.
37-year-old Phil Sands from Newham, 27-year-old Billy Simpson from Benfleet in Essex, 30-year-old Jacob Rankin from Sidcup in Bexley and 29-year-old Blue Gregory from Colchester in Essex were issued “football banning orders” that prohibit them from going to a West Ham match for a set period.
They were identified after a joint investigation by Met Police officers with colleagues from Netherlands Police into video clips spread on social media that showed the men fighting.

In addition to the bans, the four are also required to surrender their passports during European games that will prevent them from travelling abroad.
PC Jack Muscatt from the Metropolitan Police’s Football Unit said that the cases reflect the collaborative work between police in different countries to identify and deal with offenders.
Following your club in Europe, he said, “should be a great experience” and the police urge supporters to be “respectful while visiting other countries”.
He added: “This advice applies for fans travelling across this country to follow their side.
“Anyone who is found to have caused disorder at home or abroad may discover they are no longer allowed to follow their club for multiple seasons.”
“Passion is what makes football great but there is a line, don’t overstep it and regret missing memorable trips with your mates.”
