A new supermarket is set to open in Beckton this month.
The opening date for Newham's first Aldi has been confirmed as October 17, when it will begin to welcome customers at the Triangle Retail Park.
It will take over the site of the former Argos store there, following a planning application made to Newham Council on March 22.
A ribbon cutting on the morning of the launch will officially open the store, and will be attended by Paris 2024 bronze medal-winning sprinter Toby Harries.
Free bags of fresh fruit and vegetables will be given to the first 30 customers in the queue.

Giuseppe Daniello, store manager, said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Beckton.
"It’s set to be a special day and having Olympic hero Toby Harries join us will make it a morning to remember.”
