Former EastEnders actor Ricky Grover has urged people to support a charity's annual Easter appeal, which has begun for the seventh time.

Ambition, Aspire, Achieve (AAA) is aiming to support at least 2,000 disadvantaged children with a donation of an Easter egg.

Ricky, a patron of AAA, launched the appeal and said: “Easter is about new beginnings and by helping with the AAA Easter Appeal you will begin to put a smile on a young person’s face who really needs it."

Anyone wishing to support the scheme, renamed last year as the Kevin Jenkins OBE Newham Easter Appeal after the charity's founder, can do so by dropping off eggs at the charity's Terence Brown Arc in the Park, Canning Town base.

There is also a JustGiving page where donations can be made to (justgiving.com/campaign/EasterEgg2023), as well as an Amazon wishlist (amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/1R8ZIJES63YUU?%20ref_=wl_share).

AAA chief executive Jonny Boux said: “The current cost-of-living crisis is causing rising challenges for so many families and the appeal will help to ensure those children benefiting do not miss out on experiences others may take for granted.

"We are trying to reach record numbers this year and any support of any size is truly appreciated."
