Inspectors have praised primary school teachers for “being in the heart” of the Silvertown community with their inclusive ethos.
Drew Primary has been listed as ‘good’ in an Ofsted report, with the regulator finding high expectations for pupils’ achievement.
“The work of our staff is praised throughout the report,” head teacher Dulcie Sharp points out. “Staff work hard to ensure the school is an environment where every child can flourish.”

The curriculum was observed by Ofsted as “ambitious for all pupils including those with special needs”.
The school in Drew Street, run by Learning in Harmony Trust, was marked as “inclusive and welcoming in the heart of its community”.
Curriculum content is well-sequenced in many subjects so the youngsters become confident learners building on knowledge they already have, the report said.
Early Years learning is also praised, where staff develop children’s language skills with phonics and a love of reading.
