An east London home partly destroyed by a blaze had no working fire alarms, according to London Fire Brigade (LFB) which has urged residents to install them.
LFB received calls at 4.14pm on October 29 with reports of a house fire in Green Street.
Crews from Plaistow, Poplar, Stratford and East Ham stations were in attendance.
Firefighters had the blaze under control by 5.24pm.
A first floor bedroom was destroyed in the blaze, which LFB says was caused by a lithium battery failing in a charging power tool.
All seven occupants of the house managed to exit the building before crews arrived, LFB said.
A man was found to be suffering from smoke inhalation and was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service.

The incident is being treated as accidental.
The property does not appear to have had working fire alarms prior to the blaze, according to a London Fire Brigade spokesperson.
The spokesperson said: "This incident shows just how important it is to have working smoke alarms fitted on every level of your home.
“Smoke alarms give the earliest possible warning when a fire starts and we would urge everyone to make sure they have one fitted in every room where a fire can start except kitchens or bathrooms where heat alarms are more appropriate."
It is recommended to take a look at the London Fire Brigade's online Home Fire Safety Checker to make sure there are no hidden hazards in your home.
