A primary school in Manor Park has been rated 'outstanding' in its latest Ofsted report. 

Sheringham Primary School in Sheringham Avenue received the top rating from the school standards inspector after visits on January 30 and January 31. 

The report was made available to the public on March 11, showing that the school has been rated 'outstanding' in all five inspection criteria. 

Inspectors praised the school in the report for providing a "caring and nurturing environment" in which staff make the effort to get to understand their pupils individually within the classroom. 

The school has also been commended for its approach to addressing pupil concerns through the use of a 'tell me box'.

Within teaching, the school impressed Ofsted with its "bespoke phonics lessons" for pupils whose native language is not English to help them adapt to the environment.

Pupils are also said to be offered a number of opportunities by the school that help build their confidence. 

Ofsted reported that this "prepares pupils very well for their next stages in education".

Sheringham Primary School forms part of the Learning in Harmony Multi-Academy Trust, and has been a part of this since 2014. 

The school has not responded to a request for comment.
