A person has died in a house fire in East Ham, with five others seriously injured.
The London Fire Brigade were called at 8.29am this morning (July 13) to Napier Road with reports of a house fire.
Approximately 40 firefighters in six fire engines from across Barking, Stratford, Ilford and surrounding stations were dispatched to the scene.
The London Ambulance Service was also in attendance, arriving at the scene with support from the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and London's Air Ambulance.
Half of the first floor and ground floor of a terraced house were on fire and despite the best efforts of emergency services, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ast Com Patrick Goulbourne said: “Firefighters are attending a serious incident in Newham.
"I ask you to please avoid the area while firefighters respond, as traffic is likely to be impacted by the incident, and await further information from the Brigade.”
According to the AA, Napier Road is open as usual.
