A second child has died following a house fire in East Ham.
The London Fire Brigade has confirmed that a child has died overnight after being injured in the fire in Napier Road yesterday (July 13).
The child was one of five people, including two other children and two adults, who were taken to hospital.
One of the adults and the remaining two children are in serious condition as of this morning (July 14).
It is the latest update after a child was pronounced dead at the scene of the blaze on July 13, despite the best efforts of emergency services.
40 firefighters from stations across Stratford, Barking and Ilford tackled the fire.
They were supported by London Ambulance Service colleagues and London's Air Ambulance.
Ast Com Patrick Goulbourne said: “This is a terribly sad incident and the thoughts of all of us at London Fire Brigade are with the family, friends and all those affected at this difficult time.
“Staff will be in the local community over the coming days to offer support and advice where needed.
