The UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund has been delayed after pitch invaders ran onto the ground less than a minute into the match.

Wembley Stadium security officials were left red-faced on Saturday (June 1) evening after the Champions League final was halted after just one minute as three separate invaders made it onto the pitch, approaching some of the players in the process.

One of the invaders was seen taking a selfie with England and Real Madrid player Jude Bellingham.

While a video (which can be seen below) captured another running onto and around the pitch, evading security guards before eventually being tackled to the ground with the help of Borussia Dortmund's Marcel Sabitzer.

Play eventually resumed after a short delay and the three pitch invaders have since been arrested.

A Wembley Stadium spokesperson said: "It is illegal to enter the field of play at Wembley Stadium, and we strongly condemn the actions of those who interrupted the UEFA Champions League Final shortly after kick-off.

“All of the individuals have now been arrested. We will support the relevant authorities to ensure appropriate action is taken.”

A number if big name celebrities are at Wembley Stadium tonight for the Champions League final including the likes of rapper Jay Z, former Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp and soccer legend Gareth Bale.

These along with Lenny Kravitz who performed before kick off.

Champions League fans confused by London protests before final

The pitch invaders come following a busy day for police in London.

Thousands of people gathered in Parliament Square earlier in the day for a protest organised by Tommy Robinson - whose real name is Stephen Yaxley Lennon.

Roughly 300 counter-protesters, organised by Stand Up To Racism, were set up on the other side of the Cenotaph and separated from the crowd by a large police cordon.

According to the Metropolitan Police, two people were arrested in the vicinity of Parliament Square.

The protest set off from London Victoria Station at around 1pm and ended up in Parliament Square.

Another protest, smaller in size and unrelated to the above events, saw nine members of Youth Demand arrested for breaching a Public Order Act.

The Metropolitan Police said on social media that protesters went on to York Road, attempting to cause serious disruption by blocking traffic.
