Clapton will be hoping to continue their progress in the FA Cup when they host AFC Dunstable in the preliminary round this weekend.
The Tons will welcome the Southern League Division One Central side to the Newham Leisure Centre on Saturday looking to pull off an upset and bag themselves £1,444 in prize money although the losers will still pick up £481.
Manager Mustafa Bashkal and his side were also due to face Little Oakley last night (Tuesday) in the Essex Senior League as they looked to bounce back after suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to St Margaretsbury on the weekend.
Darnell Kithambo netted in the 41st minute to give Clapton a 1-0 lead heading into the half-time break, but a brace from Kyle Roberts turned the tide and meant the visitors went home with the three points.
Clapton will be looking for better fortunes as the season progresses after losing three of their opening four fixtures prior to the Little Oakley clash.
